Ava Faber (she/her) is a queer dance artist from Grover Beach, California.
She began training at her home studio, SLO Movement Arts Collective, at age 14, with a primary focus on ballet.
In 2021, Ava moved to Chicago to train with Common Conservatory, a program centered on contemporary movement and creative exploration. She later relocated to Leeds, England, to attend Northern School of Contemporary Dance, where she earned her dance certification. During her time there, Ava discovered her passion for choreography and has continued developing her choreographic voice ever since.
Ava’s first choreographic work was presented at Simantikos Choreo Kick Off. Since then, her work has been featured in Hops & Bops, Simantikos Choreo Kick Off, Delve Chicago, Common Ground, Future Artist with Still Inspired, and many other performances.
Drawn back to Chicago by its vibrant artistic community, Ava joined the Chicago Movement Collective program, where she further developed her choreographic practice while training in contemporary, Horton improvisation, and ballet.
Now based in New York, Ava is a freelance dancer, eager to collaborate, create, and connect with fellow artists.
